Meet Kim
Kimberly Bowers is the daytime executive assistant / after-hours artisan behind Bertolette Craft Outfitting. She’s on a mission to use her lifelong hobby for good, and inspire others to engage in the slow fashion movement. Although her grandmother taught her to knit over 25 years ago, Kim’s foray into garment making began on January 2, 2020, when she bought the yarn to fulfill her New Year’s Resolution of making her first sweater. The arrival of the pandemic presented even more of an opportunity to expand her skills, and since then, she has knit over 30 bespoke sweaters, dozens of other garments and accessories, and even her wedding dress. Her work has been featured by independent designers and yarn companies alike.
A total melophile and aspiring polyglot, Kim loves to pair her knitting sessions with wide-ranging playlists, Pimsleur lessons, and travel. She’s big on Music League, maritime history, and being a cozy homebody with her equally crafty wife and their beloved dog.
